This key has opened the front door of the corner store for various small businesses in New Orleans since the 19th century.  It still locks the door behind which all of the culinary inspiration transpires to create delicious spreads for foods of all cultures.

The Corner Store is a type of architecture that was created for opportunistic colonizers and represents the small business community in many countries.  Despite their near extinction due to larger monuments of consumerism, these gems in the rough can still provide for their neighborhoods.

The inspiration for our branding!  The first billboard placed on the building was an advertisement for Owl Cigars in 1895.  The corner storefront was an urban grocery store owned by an Italian family that minted it's own money.  In order to shop in the old Carrollton neighborhood you had to use their family curency.
